Skill Development & Computer Learning

ADHAAR has run 4 Balwadis and NFE at Chilla Village, Patpargunj, Mandawali and New Ashok Nagar and basic computer learning. Preschool education and socialization is provided to 130 young children in the age group of 3 to 5 years. The total number of children who benefited from attending the balwadi services during the stated period is 169. The timings of the balwadis are 9a.m to 12 p.m. In the afternoon in the same premises non formal education is provided to school drop outs and non school going children in the age group of 5+ years to 12 years. 28 children have been provided non formal education in the stated period. Efforts were also made to send the non going school children to the regular schools.

We are running different vocational training courses i.e. BEAUTY CULTURE, DESIGNING & DRESS MAKING, COMPUTER LEARNING, HOME MANAGEMENT JUTE BAGS MAKING AND PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and trained more than 160 young girls and boys. We help community people especially young girls for self sufficiency and economic empowerment.

Under Computer Learning programme, Young boys & girls have been training on job based training learn them Basic , MS Office, DTP, Office work, Tally and personality development and 113 passed out six month courses

Our motive is health care and health awareness for underprivileged people and construction workers at construction sites in East Delhi area.

Health Awareness Campaign: NGO is running health awareness campaign on different type of issues like Immunizations, HIV/AIDS, RTI/STI and Tobacco Free Cessations in the target areas through awareness camps, Street Plays, distribution of Pamphlets, Community Meetings and Stakeholder meetings. 617 of beneficiaries were Sensitized & Counseled through this program.

The organization conduct the OPD Health Centre & alternative health check up camps in the target area for underprivileged people with support Smile Foundation Mobile dispensary. We also aware & sensitized people through Street plays, distribution of pamphlets, Community Meetings and Stakeholder meetings.

Ngo has hold 36 Community Meetings held with Stakeholder like Local leaders, Mahila Group / Panchayat, Asha (Health) & Anganwari workers and NGO Workers. Awareness Camps were held at Ashok Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Vishwas Nagar, IMA EAST Delhi, on 2th Oct, 2015 more 250 participated including Doctors, Para-medical staff, experts and councilors, community women & school children discussed the issue on PCPNDT, machines, parameters of new registrations of clinic and emphasis on presentation of PC–PNDT Act to stop sex selection before birth, Special visit to registered clinics / Nursing Homes / Hospitals and check up their records and Home visit to target beneficiaries / pregnant women IEC Campaigns for ‘Save the Girl Child’ through Competition, Debate, Rallies & Street plays, & Mobile Van Campaign on PC-PNDT Act, Networking with schools & colleges to promote the youth campaign

ADHAAR IS working on various legal awareness issues for community women such as domestic violence, dowry and maintenance, child marriage etc. The organization made aware the people through community meeting, street plays & individual counseling. The organization also referred such cases to deferent organizations i.e. Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA), National Commission for Women (NCW), Delhi Women Commission & Crime Against Women Cell (CAWC).

Yamuna Action Plan

A Non Government organization Smile Foundation is funding the “Swabhiman Project” in association of ADHAAR in East Delhi District. Under this project, target areas are marginalized & poor community of New Ashok Nagar & JJ Cluster Shashi Garden, Patparganj. We are working on different type of subjects. Major issues are health and family planning, health & hygiene, RTI/STI & HIV/AIDS prevention, spacing between two child, distribution of condom, pills, emergency pills & sanitary napkins etc. and aware the whole community of the area. We are working for the underprivileged married women & adolescents and spread awareness through community meetings, counseling sessions & Street plays in the target area.

This is a project under the National Rural Health Mission(NRHM), Government of India. The mother NGO is SOSVA. The aim of this project is to ensure that quality health care services are made available to persons in the reproductive age group and children in New Ashok Nagar. Under the umbrella of health services prenatal care, postnatal care, neonatal, child care, family planning, treatment of persons suffering from reproductive tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases are covered.

Delhi Jal Board has given an assignment under Yamuna Action Plan, phase-II under Public Participation/Advocacy/Outreach Work at schools and community level (in Un-authorized colony, JJ Basti, and Urban rural Village) in Trans Yamuna (East & North East).

We have also held mega programme under YAP-II for mass community awareness and sensitization on theme SAVE WATER & SAVE YAMUNA under their guidance and kind support of MLA, MCD- Counselors, DJB Officials and community leaders.
